Disconnection

Fri May 9, 2008, 5:51 PM
In the past few months, I've been slowly releasing myself from my past few years' worth of artistic endeavors. Just last weekend, I threw out almost all of my drawings from the past few years. I probably tossed around 400 sheets of paper that I've had stored in my apartment, saved through 2 previous residence changes. I sat at my desk, a nice cold beer next to me, leafing through all my old artwork, and throwing away any that I didn't like. I've gone through my gallery and deleted (not stored) almost all of it. The two drawings remaining are 2 of the 4 old drawings that I did not throw away.

I'm going to be starting fresh, armed with only what knowledge I've gained, and all of my tools. Back when `Cedarseed posted her news article, "Cultivating Your Drawing Skills" I was eager to try it out, but I decided to wait until after winter. Over the course of the summer, I will be traveling out to various places, armed with a sketchbook and my trusty pencil.

For now, however, I will not be submitting any more work to this account name. Quite frankly, I've grown tired of it, and desire a change. When I start uploading artwork to ddA again, I will do so under a new name (not registered on dA), which I will disclose once I decide to start uploading again. Until then, I will only come to dA to browse my watchlist and see what's new, and comment when I see fit. I'll still be able to be contacted by notes. I also have completely new contact information (email, AIM/MSN, etc) but you will have to note me if you want it.

Ciao!

Thank you very much for the :+fav: of my La Salle Serenity painting. It was my first Daily Deviation, and I was really excited and pleased by the response to it. So glad you liked it. :D

A perfeição está para além do imaginário. Quem ronda o imaginário fica mais perto da perfeição.
